I never received the books I was supposed to be shipped from the National Book Bank. Where are they?

If you received an e-mail confirmation from the National Book Bank stating that you have been granted books from a distribution and that the books will be shipped to you, please reference that e-mail for the likely shipment date. Generally, the books will arrive at their destination within three to seven business days of the shipping date. However, it occasionally takes two to three weeks for shipments to arrive. If you have not received your books within that timeframe, please contact us for further information.

Here are some other possibilities that you may want to consider:

  • The books were shipped to the address that you listed on your application. Does that address accept shipments from UPS? If not, the books may have been returned to First Book.
  • Did you actually receive a shipment confirmation e-mail, or did you just fill out an application for books? Filling out an application does not guarantee that you will receive books from a distribution.
  • Occasionally, the amount of books available at a distribution will be smaller than the amount we were told was available. In those cases, we may not be able to distribute books to 100% of the groups that we initially approved to receive books.
