If you received an e-mail confirmation from the First Book National Book Bank stating that you are scheduled to pick up books, that e-mail will give you an estimate of how large a vehicle you will need to bring to the distribution site.

Generally speaking, about 15 to 20 boxes of books can fit into a mid-size car, and 30 to 35 boxes of books can fit into a large van or SUV. Anything more will require an even larger vehicle, multiple vehicles or a U-Haul.

However, please note that box sizes vary greatly from distribution to distribution. It is always better to bring a vehicle that is too large than one that is too small. Plan to be able to pick up all the books you have been awarded in one trip, as we cannot guarantee how long we will be able to hold the books as book distributions are hosted in donated warehouses.
