I need to update my organization’s profile and update my eligibility. How do I do this?
Registering with First Book and updating your registration in 2010 is now easier than ever!
If you registered with First Book prior to April 2009 or did not yet update your profile in 2009, your organization must do so by going to www.firstbook.org/rg and logging in using your username and password. Once logged in you will need to select your organization and update your information. Now, in most cases, First Book Recipient Groups do not have to fax or email paperwork to register or update their registration. Updated information about a Recipient Group will automatically populate a letter that is signed electronically on the registration website or at www.firstbook.org/rg. For auditing purposes, we may require more information. In those select cases, you may be asked to fax or email additional information.
In the update you will need to update all fields but especially the percentage of children from low-income families that your organization serves and how that percentage was determined. This information will populate the electronic letter that you will sign off on after you complete the update. Please use a government guideline or official determinant to find this percentage such as:
- Free and reduced lunch
- Medicaid or Medicare eligibility
- State poverty guidelines
- WIC eligibility
- HHS guidelines
- Parental survey
- Homeless shelter/transitional housing
- SES Provider
- Low levels of adult literacy
